1. Introduction

GuessOurDay.com ("Guess Our Day," "we," "us," or "our") is an event game platform operated by Lanai Group LLC. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use our website at guessourday.com, our mobile applications, and related services (together, the "Service").

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide to us, information collected automatically when you use the Service, and limited information from service providers.

Information you provide. When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, login credentials, and your confirmation that you are at least 13 years old, or the basic profile information made available by Google or Apple if you choose to sign in with them. When you create or manage an event, we collect the event details you enter, such as the event name, dates, times, location, the names of the couple, the names and email addresses of people you invite to help manage the event, questions and answers, timeline items, optional donation details such as Venmo, Cash App, or Zelle information, and any event image you upload.

When you join an event as a guest, we collect the name you enter, an optional display name, your guesses, your team selections, and an optional profile picture. You may either link your entry to an account or protect it with a PIN. A PIN entry collects no email address. If you link your entry to an account, you choose whether your account email address is shared with the event's management team for that event only. PINs are stored in a protected, hashed form and cannot be viewed by anyone, including us and event hosts.

If you sign an event's guestbook, we collect your message and, where the event allows it, any photo you add or video you record. If you list a business in our vendor directory, we collect your business details, the contact details you choose to display, your service areas, your images and media, and your account information. If you post a review, we collect your rating, any review text, and the name you provide with written reviews. If you subscribe to our blog or contact our support team, we collect your email address and the content of your communications.

Information collected automatically. When you use the Service, we automatically collect certain technical information, such as your IP address, device and browser type, operating system, pages and screens viewed, interactions, and approximate location derived from your IP address. We record the IP address associated with each vendor review to prevent abuse and enforce our review limits. If you use our mobile app and allow notifications, we collect a device token so we can send push notifications.

Information from service providers. We receive limited information from our payment processor, such as confirmation that a payment succeeded and the general location needed to calculate taxes. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.

3. How We Use Information

We use information to provide and operate the Service, including creating and managing accounts, running events, scoring games, displaying leaderboards and guestbooks, linking a guest entry to your account when you choose to, operating the vendor directory, and processing payments.

We also use information to send service communications such as invitations, event results, reminders, receipts, review notifications, and support updates; to send blog updates to people who have subscribed; to display advertising; to understand how the Service is used and to improve it; to detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, spam, abuse, and security incidents; and to comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

4. Who Can See Your Information

Information you add to an event is visible to others according to how the event is set up. Event hosts, co-hosts, and viewers can see guest names, guesses, team selections, profile pictures, guestbook entries, and any email address a guest chose to share with them. Other guests cannot see your guestbook entry. Leaderboards may be visible to everyone with access to the event, and names appear on leaderboards in the format the event chooses. Donation details entered by the couple, including any email address or phone number used for Zelle, are visible to anyone with access to the event.

Vendor listings, including the contact details a vendor chooses to display, and reviews and vendor responses are public. Reviews posted without text may be anonymous; written reviews show the name the reviewer provides.

5. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies, local storage, software development kits, and similar technologies ("cookies") to recognize your browser or device, keep you signed in, remember your preferences, secure the Service, understand usage, and support advertising.

Some cookies are required for the Service to work, such as those that keep you signed in, protect forms from automated abuse, and remember your cookie choice. Other cookies are used for analytics, which help us understand how the Service is used, and for advertising, which allows our advertising partners to deliver and measure ads.

Third parties, including Google, may set cookies or use similar technologies when you use the Service, in accordance with their own privacy policies. You can manage cookies through your browser settings, although blocking required cookies may prevent parts of the Service from working.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the European Union, or the United Kingdom, we use analytics and advertising cookies only after you choose to allow them. Your choice is stored in a cookie on your device, and you can change it at any time using the cookie preference control on this page.

6. Advertising

Free events, our blog, and parts of our vendor directory are supported by advertising. On free events, ads are displayed to everyone using the event, including the event's management team and its guests. Paid events do not display ads, and paid vendor listings do not display ads on the vendor's own profile page. Ads on our website are provided by Google AdSense, and ads in our mobile app are provided by Google AdMob. These partners may use cookies, device identifiers, and similar technologies to deliver and measure ads. You can opt out of advertising data sharing using the control on this page, and you can manage ad personalization through your device settings and Google's ad settings.

7. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

We share information only as needed to operate the Service. This includes service providers that host our systems and data, store media, deliver email and push notifications, process payments and calculate taxes, provide analytics and error monitoring, protect forms from automated abuse, and deliver advertising. These providers may use information only to provide their services to us and are required to protect it.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to respond to valid legal requests, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users, our business, or others. If our business is reorganized, merged, or sold, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy.

8. Your Choices and Rights

You can update your account details and notification preferences in your account settings, manage blog emails using the unsubscribe link in any blog email, and turn push notifications on or off in your device settings or in the app.

You can delete your account at any time from your account settings. When you delete your account, your account and profile are removed. Any event where you are the only host is deleted along with your account. Other events you belong to remain available to their other hosts and guests until the end of their normal retention period. Your guest entries, guestbook entries, and reviews are anonymized rather than deleted so that event results and vendor ratings remain accurate. If you own a vendor listing, it is removed and any paid listing subscription is cancelled.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to restrict or object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To make a request, contact us at support@guessourday.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing your request.

9. Data Retention

Event information, including guesses, scores, guestbook messages, photos, and videos, is kept for 90 days after the event's scheduled end time and is then deleted. A downloadable copy of an event that is prepared for the event's management team is kept for 7 days after it is prepared. Account information is kept until you delete your account. Vendor listings are kept until they are deleted. Reviews are kept while the listing they relate to exists. We may keep limited records longer where needed for legal, tax, accounting, security, or dispute-resolution purposes.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including encryption in transit, access controls, hashed PINs and passwords, and limits on repeated access attempts. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of information. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials and any PIN confidential.

11. International Users

The Service is operated from Washoe County, Nevada, in the United States. Your information may be processed and stored in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate, which may have data protection laws different from those in your country.

12. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, contact us at support@guessourday.com and we will delete it.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a new "Last Updated" date. If changes are significant, we may also notify you by email or through the Service.
